Tracie Aiken
I am a painter, inspired by color and nature, with over 40 years of art exploration using a brush.

They say, “Not all who wander are lost.”

My art journey has exposed me to a variety of mediums and techniques.

In my quest to capture the beauty and vibrancy of nature, I discovered the 2000-year-old art of hand painted silk and fell in love.

My award-winning silk paintings are a modern take on that ancient art form. I use the highest quality Thai silk, French dyes, and a variety of resists to control the dyes. Once I finish the painting it is then steamed for at least 2 hours to permanently set the dye. This process also increases the vibrancy of the work.

My oil paintings have evolved over the years and while I still enjoy being in nature and painting Plein Air, I have most recently allowed my Silk Art to begin influencing my studio work, intensifying color, and providing a macro focus on the interesting bits of my subject matter.

I have been blessed to receive recognition, study with other amazing artists and to make interesting connections with my collectors over the years.

However, my greatest joy in this journey is getting an opportunity to share what I have seen and learned along the way.

Respectfully yours,
Tracie Aiken
