Rebecca McDannold
Rebecca McDannold began her artistic career at Hallmark Greeting Cards Company in Kansas City,
Missouri, learning watercolors. She then attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Illinois,
before teaching art to high school students in Dupo, Illinois and college students for the Belleville Area
College in Belleville, Illinois.
She has won many awards and accolades participating in art fairs and juried shows in 14 states, written
and illustrated books, and painted celebrity portraits. Today she joyfully paints the local island life in its
many forms using oil paints, mixed media and, of course, watercolors.
Sir David Hawkins, MD said “Man's greatest gifts to himself are love and art." Rebecca McDannold feels
the same and creates visual gifts for those who also love art.
McDannold lives on Amelia Island with her husband, Bill. They have a blended family of 6 children and
their spouses and 11 grandchildren.
