I enjoyed my professional life in the sciences, as an educator and researcher, and am grateful that I now have the time and opportunity to create art. Since retiring in 2018, I am enthusiastically traveling, and I have fallen in love with oil and watercolor painting.

As a native Floridian, many of my paintings are inspired by the natural beauty surrounding us in north Florida and traveling widens my lens to include the beauty from around the world. Whether the scene is a coastal marsh, mountain river or a village market, my goal in painting is to focus on the elements in the scene that have attracted my attention and to interpret their essence in my art. What I try to create in each painting is an homage to the subject as it exists in nature - as I feel it. Beauty is everywhere.
