Gary Johns
My whole life has been an exploration of art, from making little animals of clay as a child, to drawing whatever was in front of me. After retirement, I became serious about painting, inspired by a trip to the southwest U.S. in the Spring of 2011. I am self-taught attending art workshops, reading, and gaining knowledge through videos along with lots and lots of practice. I have used watercolor pencils, acrylics and now I paint exclusively with oils because of the depth of color, and flexibility of the medium. I also make my own frames in my workshop/studio. I work hard to improve my skills every time I pick up a paintbrush.
